We have a virtual reality headset that can help reduce anxiety associated with invasive procedures. Some members of our team are also trained in medical hypnosis, which can enhance the benefits of virtual reality.
When your loved one is unable to communicate verbally or through body language,
it is up to all of us — family, friends and healthcare professionals — to use every available means of communication to remain connected and support them through this experience, despite the emotional pain it may cause.
Our team works towards this with a midwife trained in palliative care and haptonomy, an approach based on supportive touch. She can help you come together around your loved one, be present with them here and now, and accompany what is happening.

LifeMapp Diary is a secure web application used to create ICU diaries for intensive care patients. It helps patients reclaim their story and regain a sense of control after leaving intensive care. The diary is usually written collaboratively by family members, friends and healthcare professionals. It records the patient’s daily life and important events during the hospital stay that may leave physical or memory-related effects, placing them within the wider family and social context. This helps restore a missing part of a story whose consequences the patient may experience without remembering the events themselves.

The Snoezelen trolley is a therapeutic device used as part of the Snoezelen approach, a multisensory method designed to stimulate the senses and promote relaxation, alertness or rehabilitation.
Its multisensory features can help reduce anxiety and promote a sense of wellbeing and relaxation, while improving patient comfort and taking account of the specific constraints of the clinical environment.
Pets are not allowed in the unit.
