LifeMapp was designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide all the information you need. Conceived as a compass, the app helps you find your bearings and move towards returning to everyday life. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.
Welcome to the page of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at La Timone Hospital. This page was created to support the families and loved ones of patients cared for in our unit. An intensive care admission is often a difficult time, marked by anxiety and many questions. Our aim is to provide clear, reliable information to help you understand the care environment in which your loved one is being treated. Our unit provides highly specialised, round-the-clock care for severe cardiovascular conditions, particularly following major cardiovascular surgery, in cases of acute heart failure or after a heart transplant. As a university department, the unit also has teaching and research responsibilities, helping to train tomorrow’s healthcare professionals and advance our field. All of our nursing, medical, allied health and administrative teams are committed to providing expert, compassionate care. Please be assured that we will do everything possible to support your loved one with the utmost dedication and kindness.

Every day of the week, a reception officer is available to welcome patients’ families and friends. When the reception officer is absent, including at weekends, a healthcare assistant is available at reception. With the doctor’s agreement, families may enter from 14:00. A maximum of two visitors is allowed in each bay.Find out more
