LifeMapp was designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide all the information you need. Conceived as a compass, the app helps you find your bearings and move towards returning to everyday life. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.
The Cardiovascular Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Department provides perioperative care for patients undergoing cardiac surgery, with or without cardiopulmonary bypass, and/or an interventional cardiology procedure. The department also cares for non-surgical patients with acute decompensated heart failure who require admission to critical care. It is responsible for a total of 25 critical care beds: 15 intensive care beds, five high-dependency beds and five cardiac intensive care beds. The Head of Department is Professor Ouattara. The heads of the functional units are Dr Julien Imbault and Dr Stefano Mion. The medical, nursing and allied health teams are here to support you and your loved ones throughout the hospital stay. We understand that you may have questions or requests concerning the stay and the operation, and we are available to address them. You can contact us by telephone or speak with us when you visit, starting from the pre-anaesthetic consultation.

Our unit takes part in research groups working to improve care for intensive care patients.
A psychologist is available to listen to your concerns and feelings and help you process the shock of a hospital admission. These conversations can give you time to reflect, draw on your own resources and make sense of the experience, while feeling supported and able to look ahead.

At the entrance to the intensive care unit, you will find an intercom with a drop-down menu. Select “AS ACCUEIL” (reception healthcare assistant). This team member will welcome you and liaise with the healthcare professionals caring for your loved one.
Children may visit, subject to medical approval and a prior meeting with one of the unit’s psychologists.

Practical information:
When you arrive at the Haut-Lévêque Hospital site, head for the “Hôpital Cardiologie” car park opposite the cardiology building.
The Acquired Heart Disease Intensive Care Unit is on the first floor of this building. Take the lifts in the main lobby, directly opposite the entrance.
When you leave the lifts, turn right and follow the signs to the entrance to the unit.
An intercom with a drop-down menu is available by the door. Select “AS ACCUEIL”: the reception team will welcome you and liaise with the healthcare professionals caring for your loved one.
A QR code is also available to guide you step by step from the car park to the unit.
