Our commitments to supporting you:
You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.
LifeMapp was designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide all the information you need. Conceived as a compass, the app helps you find your bearings and move towards returning to everyday life. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.
Welcome to the Intensive Care Unit at the Jules Bordet Institute. The unit provides round-the-clock care for patients whose conditions are predominantly severe and acute and who require continuous monitoring. It comprises eight individual rooms. The care team is committed to providing high-quality care and to welcoming and supporting families from the very beginning. An admission to intensive care can raise many questions. We therefore do everything possible to be available, attentive and responsive.

Children are welcome to visit, but visits need to be carefully planned. Please speak to the unit team to arrange one.
Visiting hours are from 12:00 to 20:00 every day. We may change these hours in the patient’s interests if their condition requires it, or to allow the care team to work safely and effectively. When you arrive, please ring the bell to let us know you are there. Wait for permission from the care team before entering the unit and going to the patient’s room. A member of the team will come to meet you in the waiting room. For infection-control reasons and to allow patients to rest, no more than two visitors may be in the room at the same time. If more than two people wish to visit, a family room is available so that visitors can take turns. To protect patients’ privacy and allow the unit to operate smoothly, visitors may not wait in the corridor outside the rooms. Please use the family room. All of this information is included in the Family Charter, which you will receive during your first visit. Find out more
