Our Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit has 16 intensive care beds and eight high-dependency beds.

We care for patients with severe conditions affecting the brain or spinal cord who require continuous, round-the-clock monitoring and specialist treatment.

The rooms are equipped with monitoring and life-support devices tailored to each patient’s neurological and general condition.

We mainly admit patients with stroke, traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, or a brain tumour. These conditions may require surgery, breathing support and close neurological monitoring. Every patient receives personalised care that is adapted as their condition changes. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of consultant anaesthetists and intensivists, neurosurgeons, nurses, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists, dietitians, a social worker, nurse managers and a psychologist.

Together, we provide specialist treatment, neurological monitoring, compassionate support and help for families throughout the stay.
