Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

New Civil Hospital – Strasbourg University Hospitals

Our commitments to supporting you:

You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.

LifeMapp was designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide all the information you need. Conceived as a compass, the app helps you find your bearings and move towards returning to everyday life. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.

Welcome

You are in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit, a specialist unit for patients with heart conditions.

This 12-bed hospital unit mainly cares for patients following major cardiac surgery, as well as those receiving temporary or permanent mechanical circulatory support and patients who have undergone a heart or heart-lung transplant. The technical complexity of this care environment can be overwhelming for patients and families. This is why a complete, highly skilled and dynamic team is present around the clock, seven days a week, to care for you or your loved one.

Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and healthcare assistants are all committed to doing their utmost to provide you and your loved ones with the best possible care.

We devote considerable time to communication with patients, families, friends and the patient’s usual doctors. Every day from 11:00, members of the medical, nursing or allied health team are available to provide families with the information they need and answer questions about the clinical condition of the person in our care. Please share your worries, questions and expectations with us. We will support you as fully as possible, because we all share the same goal: helping the patient achieve a good quality of life after intensive care.
