General intensive care unit

CHIC Castres Mazamet – Hôpital du Pays d’Autan

Our commitments to supporting you:

You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.

LifeMapp is designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide the information you need. Like a compass, it helps you find your bearings and move towards everyday life again. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.

Welcome

Welcome, Your loved one is being cared for in our intensive care and critical care unit because their condition requires specialist treatment and close monitoring.

The care provided may be complex and intensive, but the entire team is available around the clock and works together to care for the patient and answer your questions. Care is multidisciplinary and draws on a range of expertise, including physiotherapy, psychology, speech and language therapy, dietetics and social work. The same medical, nursing and allied health team works across both units.

Some patients will be offered a follow-up appointment three to six months after leaving intensive care.

Visits are reserved for family members and close friends. Children who wish to visit may do so with the team’s agreement.
