Intensive Care – General High-Dependency Unit

Alès-Cévennes Hospital Centre

Our commitments to supporting you:

You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.

LifeMapp is designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide the information you need. Like a compass, it helps you find your bearings and move towards everyday life again. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.

Welcome

Your loved one is currently being cared for in the Intensive Care and General High-Dependency Unit at Alès-Cévennes Hospital Centre, which has eight intensive care beds and four general high-dependency beds. Both units provide continuous admission and care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We care for patients who have, or are at risk of developing, failure of one or more organs that may be life-threatening. They require close monitoring and often organ-support treatments such as mechanical ventilation, cardiovascular support and/or dialysis.

The team includes doctors, residents, medical students, a nurse manager, nurses, healthcare assistants, hospital support staff, physiotherapists, a dietitian, a psychologist, a medical secretary and a social worker. The team will welcome you during visits, which are possible 24 hours a day by appointment.
