Dear Sir or Madam, Your loved one has been admitted to our General Intensive Care and High-Dependency Unit.

Our unit can care for 25 patients. It comprises four intensive care sections (West, North, East and South) and one high-dependency unit, known as SIPO.
The intensive care unit treats patients with failure of one or more organs that may be life-threatening and may require prolonged organ-support treatments, such as respiratory, cardiovascular, kidney, neurological or haematological support. It is a medical-surgical ICU, admitting both medical and surgical patients. After intensive care, the High-Dependency Unit (HDU) cares for patients whose condition requires a level of monitoring between intensive care and a standard hospital ward. It also provides specialised care for the most vulnerable patients following surgery.

Assessment, diagnosis and treatment are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a doctor on site at all times. The multidisciplinary team caring for your loved one includes doctors, residents, nurses and healthcare assistants, as well as physiotherapists, psychologists, a dietitian, nurse managers, medical secretaries and a social worker. We do everything possible to ensure that the often highly technical care your loved one receives is as comfortable as possible and respects every individual.

Visits are welcome every day from 12:30 to 20:30. Between treatments, we will make every effort to answer your questions about your loved one’s condition. On weekday afternoons, it may also be possible to arrange a discussion with the doctor responsible for their care.
