Like a compass, it helps you find your bearings and move towards everyday life again. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.
Welcome to the Intensive Care Medicine unit at Caen University Hospital.Our care teams provide all the treatment required by the most critically ill adult patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, helping their condition improve and ensuring that their hospital stay takes place in the best possible circumstances.Our teams are equally committed to welcoming and supporting every family member and friend. Doctors will keep you informed about your loved one’s condition. A psychologist is also available throughout the hospital stay and can help prepare and support children’s visits.All members of the care team are available to answer your questions throughout the stay.

The Intensive Care Medicine unit is located on the 16th floor of the Côte de Nacre Tower at Caen Normandy University Hospital. It is divided into two units, 16-10 and 16-30, each with 11 intensive care beds.
More than 100 people contribute to patient care, teaching and research. These three core roles define the Intensive Care Medicine unit and enable it to provide high-quality care so that your loved one’s hospital stay takes place in the best possible conditions.Approximately 800 to 850 patients are admitted to the unit each year.

When you visit, please ring the bell at the entrance to the unit so that a member of staff can meet and accompany you. Two family members or friends are permitted in each room at the same time, subject to the necessary hygiene measures. At the beginning of or during your visit, we may ask you to wait in the family room while care is provided to your loved one. Our psychologists are available to support you. Children may visit only under certain conditions. Please ask us directly so that we can discuss what can be arranged to maintain family connections.

Practical information:
Les services de réanimation médicale 16/10 et 16/30 se situent au 16ème étage de la tour principale. En vous garant sur le parking public n1, vous serez face à l’entrée principale du CHU de Caen. Vous pouvez ensuite accéder au 16ème étage par les ascenseurs publics, en suivant la ligne bleue depuis l’entrée principale.
