Alençon Hospital (CHICAM)
Our commitments to supporting you:
You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.
LifeMapp was designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide all the information you need. Conceived as a compass, the app helps you find your bearings and move towards returning to everyday life. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.
Welcome to our Intensive Care and High-Dependency Unit. The Intensive Care and High-Dependency Unit is at the heart of the hospital’s adult critical care provision. It cares for adults with failure of one or more organs that may be life-threatening. These conditions may require prolonged use of specialised treatments and medical devices, together with the round-the-clock presence of medical and nursing staff trained in intensive care. The unit has eight fully equipped intensive care beds and four High-Dependency Unit (HDU) beds. It works closely with the hospital’s technical departments and services, including the emergency medical service (SAMU), Emergency Department, radiology and operating theatres.
