Dear Sir or Madam, You or your loved one is being cared for in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Hautepierre Hospital, Strasbourg University Hospitals. Our healthcare assistants, doctors, nurses, management team, administrative staff, physiotherapists, dietitians and psychologist are available to keep you informed and provide the highest standard of care, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We do everything possible to ensure that this care, which can be highly technical, invasive and intimidating for families, is delivered with compassion and deep respect for every person. You will see different members of staff caring for you or your loved one. Please feel free to ask them questions and share your concerns, worries and hopes. Dedicated discussions with the medical team are available every afternoon. Outside these times, we do everything possible to allow visits at any hour of the day or night, while respecting patients’ privacy and ensuring the safety of care. An information booklet is available, and after the stay we offer patients and their families a post-intensive care follow-up appointment.
