Intensive Care Medicine

Paris-Saclay University Hospitals – Bicêtre Hospital

Our commitments to supporting you:

You or someone close to you has just been admitted to intensive care.

LifeMapp is designed to guide you through every stage of an intensive care stay and provide the information you need. Like a compass, it helps you find your bearings and move towards everyday life again. Developed by the One O One Endowment Fund, LifeMapp is available free of charge to units that request it.

Welcome

The Intensive Care Medicine unit at Bicêtre Hospital cares for adult patients with serious illnesses causing failure of one or more vital functions and requiring specialist organ-support treatment. It also treats vulnerable patients at risk of deterioration who need close monitoring.

Our medical, nursing and allied health teams bring their professional expertise, commitment to high-quality care and the most advanced intensive care techniques to every patient. We are also committed to welcoming, supporting and keeping you informed throughout your loved one’s care journey.

Our unit takes part in research groups working to improve care for intensive care patients.

Number of visitors allowed in the room at the same time : adapté à chaque patient.

Nous pouvons être amenés à limiter le nombre de personnes présentes dans la chambre pour le confort et la sécurité de votre proche.

The unit welcomes visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During normal working hours, a member of staff is available from the waiting room. Outside these hours, the unit remains open and you are welcome to enter and ask the care team for assistance. If the door to your loved one’s room is closed and the green light above it is on, care is in progress. Please return to the waiting room and try again a little later.

The care your loved one needs may take time, and we understand that waiting can be difficult. Please be assured that we do everything possible to keep delays to a minimum.
