An admission to intensive care is a deeply unsettling experience, both for the patient and for those close to them. Uncertainty, fear, exhaustion and a sense of helplessness can make this period particularly difficult.
As the unit’s psychologist, my role is to support you through this unusual time: to help you put your experience into words, find your bearings and maintain your connection with your loved one in hospital.
I can also meet with you to discuss visits from children, help you prepare them and explain the framework in which they can be welcomed.
